Semiconductor titan Nvidia has transformed a $5 billion investment in Intel into a staggering $30 billion holding, while revealing a new $21 billion stake in SpaceX according to a recent SEC filing. Led by CEO Jensen Huang, the company has strategically positioned itself as a financial stakeholder in its key partners, completely exiting its position in Arm while cementing multi-billion dollar stakes across technology giants like Coherent, Nokia, and Synopsys.
The Anatomy of the Intel Windfall
The monumental financial turnaround began in September 2025, when Nvidia announced a strategic AI infrastructure partnership with Intel. Following regulatory clearance from the Federal Trade Commission, Nvidia acquired 214,776,632 shares at $23.28 per share, totaling $5 billion. By mid-2026, with Intel shares soaring, the position generated an unrealized gain of nearly $25 billion, pushing the total valuation to approximately $30 billion and rescuing Intel during a critical period.
Strategic Stakes in SpaceX, CoreWeave, and Beyond
Beyond its massive Intel triumph, the 13F regulatory filing disclosed a $20.975 billion investment in SpaceX, aligning with SpaceX‘s xAI commitment to exclusively utilize Nvidia hardware in terrestrial and orbital data centers. Meanwhile, Nvidia liquidated its 1.1 million Arm shares valued at $178.1 million. Furthermore, the AI giant significantly bolstered its positions in cloud providers like CoreWeave, increasing its holdings to 47.213 million shares valued at $4.699 billion, alongside lucrative positions in Nokia and Synopsys.
Market Implications and Risk Exposure
While these strategic maneuvers underscore Nvidia‘s supreme financial dominance—boasting quarterly revenues exceeding $80 billion and net income nearing $60 billion—wall street analysts point to a concentrated risk. By heavily investing in primary chip buyers like Intel and SpaceX, both of which pledged to use Nvidia as an exclusive supplier, the chipmaker has effectively doubled its exposure to the booming AI infrastructure buildout, intertwining its operational revenue with its equity investment portfolio.
