The Departure of Yami and Asta
The definitive ending in Chapter 392 fundamentally reshaped the central squad, notably through the departure of its two strongest members, Yami and Asta. Yami, the overpowered Dark Magic-using captain, retired to return to his homeland of Hino Country following the announcement of his upcoming marriage to Charlotte, the former captain of the Blue Rose. Meanwhile, Asta officially transitioned out of the squad after defeating Yuno in Chapter 391 and ascending to become the 29th Wizard King of the Clover Kingdom.
Nacht and Vanessa Take the Helm
With Yami stepping down, leadership of the Black Bulls transitioned to new figures. Nacht Faust, who previously served as the vice-captain after joining in Chapter 246, officially stepped up to take the role of captain. Furthermore, the August 4, 2026 guidebook release confirmed that Vanessa Enoteca has been promoted from her long-standing role to become the new vice-captain, partnering with Nacht to lead the reorganized squad forward.
Noelle Silva Remains a Core Powerhouse
Despite significant shifts in the leadership ranks, core members such as Charmy, Magna, Luck, and Grey remain with the team. Notably, the series heroine Noelle Silva chose to stay behind with the Black Bulls. Although she did not receive a formal leadership position despite possessing Wizard King-level power and massive mana reserves alongside the Sea God Leviathan, Noelle remains an essential and formidable pillar for the squad.
